Frequently asked questions... Answered!

Make sure you have the right media plug-ins!
In order to listen to the live & archived shows you should make sure you have the latest free media players and browser plug-ins. Both PC and Mac users need to get the free Real Player which is required for most shows. PC users need the free Windows Media Player but if you have a Mac you can download the free version of Flip 4 Mac instead of Windows Media Player. All of the software required for AW is FREE.

How do I download shows to my hard drive?
From our Archive Page you will normally see links to the latest shows that say "Download MP3." By clicking these links, most shows will start playing automatically. But if you instead wish to save these files to your computer to hear later or to sync to your portable device follow these steps: In order to download the shows on a PC, right click on the MP3 link of your choice and then you will see an option popup to "download linked file" or one of several other options depending on your operating system. On a Mac you can click on an MP3 link while holding the "control" button on your keyboard to view the download options. If a link on our website says "Steam MP3" it means the ability to save the file to your computer is not available for that particular show or interview. If you're listening to a show while it is on the air live, you will usually be able to find that show archived for download on our site within a day or two from that show's subsite.

What is the AW stream portal?
The AW stream portal is a revolutionary new way to experience all of the best wrestling radio shows from around the web from the convenience of one location. If there is a quality live show on the web when you visit AW, it will automatically load! If you visit the site too early, just refresh the site after the top of the hour and it will search again for the live stream. Nearly all of the shows listed on the live schedule are already programmed into the stream portal (and there are others that are not listed). On some rare occasions when two shows are on at the same time you will be able to find the alternative show on our affiliate site ShowdownNetwork.com. New for 2011, we have created a chat portal also, so now you can find the chat room of the show you are hearing nested next to our stream portal on the AW home page.

The content!
Many of the shows featured in the stream portal are officially affiliated with AW. Other shows with no direct affiliation are made available via the radio stations that broadcast those shows to the web and make them freely available to our stream portal with a simple forwarding link and source credit. Some shows featured in the stream portal will require a link click to launch while others will start automatically.

The new AW mission statement!
Welcome to AW! Since 1996 we have been providing wrestling radio content to the Internet. When AW first started there was a severe lack of wrestling radio online. Besides WWE's own Byte This, only a handful of consistent shows existed. It became AW's mission to change this. Over the course of 15+ years, AW assembled the greatest lineup of wrestling radio shows ever featuring such shows as Get In The Ring, Between The Ropes, Wrestling News Live, Wrestle This, Rasslin' Radio, Pro Wrestling Weekly, The Pain Clinic, Monday Night Mayhem, No Holds Barred, Voice Of Wrestling, Wrestling Weekly, In Your Head, The Squared Circle and dozens more.

The powerful mix of shows made AW a very successful and one-of-a-kind site for a number of years. In fact for a long period, not a single week went by without an interview originating from AW making headlines in the top wrestling industry newsletters. It was very typical for the AW shows to create a buzz with comments made by wrestlers on AW developing into larger scale stories over the weeks to follow.

Before long, many sites attempted to duplicate AW's success. Some of these new networks set out to "compete" with AW by attempting to recreate their own "Monday Night War" scenario amongst wrestling radio networks. AW never seeked competition. To us the positive existence of wrestling radio shows as a whole was still the ultimate mission. For a few years we figured that mission was just about a completed success with the existence of several strong wrestling radio outlets.

Unfortunately these other "networks" all fizzled out seemingly at once. Even the AW network itself took a skid in 2008 when four of the remaining six featured shows all halted production within three weeks of each other. In late 2008, the past and present producers of AW got together and envisioned a reinvention of AW and thus the entire wrestling radio community.

Today - still with our own series of exclusive shows, the new AW is built to act as a portal to wrestling radio for the entire Internet. Rather than just promoting our own affiliated shows, AW will promote all quality wrestling radio and will attempt to serve as a catalyst for the continued growth and success of all wrestling radio shows that follow.

We wish to thank all of our supporters and contributors over the past 15+ years and hope to continue for many years to come!
